Successful internet marketing and web site promotion depends on a number of variables, and creating a web site to take account of successful marketing requirements is a science in its self. Two of the first things to recognise when creating & promoting a professional web site, is that the web site will fail if potential visitors cannot find it, & visitors who do find it will usually not wait for large graphics & animation files to load.

However, this means that web sites should be "robot friendly", and also require an additional program file to be present (often named robot.txt) which tell the search engine robots how to handle your site.

1. The search engines can be left to find your new site via links from other sites. This is also known as the breadcrumb approach & is NOT RECOMMENDED because everything is left to chance & the Search engines may not correctly list your web site.

2. You can use a Search Engine submission tool which supposedly submits your web site to the major search engines on your behalf. This is also known as the lazy approach & is NOT RECOMMENDED because many search engines consider this submission technique to be a form of spamming & many will actually blacklist your site; thus effectively killing it before you have even started.

3. Make individual, targeted submissions to the major search engines and then monitor their success, whilst taking into account the wide variety of variables which come into play during both this & the ranking process & "tweak the site" as appropriate. This is obviously more time consuming, but when correctly applied; THIS TECHNIQUE WORKS and although your site may not appear in Google or the other major search engines for some time, when it does appear it will rank highly & its position will be stable. This is also the reason that we provide ongoing support, because we will monitor your sites ranking & position & continue to advise & tweak the site accordingly.
